The Hits Keep Coming - Literally and Figuratively

The only person that would ever consider getting Sable a Karoake machine would be those individuals who do not live in a 500 mile radius and could keep safe from the parents of Sable.... Sable's parents now have to listen to her sing will she is in the shower, but when she is getting dressed for bed, and any other time in between. She also has a new format to her presentation where she sits in front of the mirror with her guitar and strums along. pretends. How much fun! Taylor Swift is the best... hopefully we will change country singers soon.

The other hits pertain to the drama fits we have been having. The other night daddy had told her to go get in the shower for bed. A couple of minutes later we find her in the living room eating a cookie. DAddy Erdmier told her to throw it away and get in the bath! A couple of minutes later she comes back in to the living room with her robe on and still unbathed and Announced - "Daddy I can't believe you would treat your daughter like that -- how rude"! Her daddy was in shock and her mommy couldn't stop laughing...

Colby on the other hand is so cute. He managed to eat some dog food this morning and a leaf and got in the down draft of Brandon spray painting --- he had red highlights. Colby has three teeth now with one more on its way -- and it hurts him --- he naws on everything and anything!!!!!

Fun Times!!

Thanksgiving - Landing Strip for the Near by Airport.

Well Thanksgiving was fun -- and cold. But we had a good time out in Perrin, TX with some friends/family. Sable had a good time as always running wild in the outdoors.... Colby fell off the high bed in the camper.... nice! But he survived. We all got full on Turkey and rain! We ended up coming back early-- it's hard to keep to children entertained in a camper. After one episode of The View and another episode of The price is right -- mommy couldn't handle it anymore.

We came back and got busy doing our Christmas decorating -- I don't typically do it this early but I had the time so- what the heck! Of course it began with everyone of the Erdmiers saying they would help -- at 5:00 when mommy finally finished (by herself) it looked pretty good. Brandon had a good excuse not to help -- he was making our house into a landing strip for the near by airport --- we have red lights everywhere -- you could turn off all the lights on the inside of the house and guide yourself with the pink glow that is flooding into the windows!

Of course they are straight and better than anyone else's on the block!

What can I say --- She is her daddy's girl!

Life has been pretty busy as normal.... Colby has a new babysitter that we just love and Sable has been doing wonderful at school and Brandon, well he has kept his cool through most of it.
You know how there is an instances in your life that you just wish you could hold on to forever but you know you will somewhat forget.... well we had one of those on Saturday.
I was inside playing with Colby while Sable was outside playing. We have had an ongoing issue with Sable not wanting to learn to ride her bike. "I don't want to! or I will just walk! or I will try tomorrow." -- have been her normal replies.
Well all of the sudden she runs in from outside saying, "Mommy mommy the most wonderful thing in the world just happened to me! Come outside - quick" So I ran outside and that little rascal was flying down the street on her bike with no fear. Of course I start hooting and hollering like a fool -- but she had gotten over her fear and tried it on her own. We called her Daddy and told him.... he could just hear his chest swell up (even more than it already is).
Later Sable asked if she could have something to drink or something and Brandon said, "Sure because I am so proud of you for learning to ride your bike." Sable says, "Well Daddy all I needed was a little time to practice, I mean my schedule has just been so busy!"
It will never be dull in the Erdmier house.

Picture Day

Every mother has to love getting pictures taken.... well after yesterday this mommy remembers why she is behind on that activity. Getting the actual pictures taken was a breeze with two non camera shy - love myself - please take another and give me more attention - children. I mean you would think Colby was made to have a camera flash in his face.

The Real Drama of the whole ordeal was getting everyone ready.... Sable didn't want to wear what mommy had picked out... you had to time Colby's feeding and poopy diapers around getting dressed and then try and find their daddy. Mommy was plum worn out by the time we were leaving the house. Then mommy had to deal with, "What time do the Cowboys come on -- what do you mean 12:00 -- we are going to miss the game" -- Most of you know he didn't miss anything!

Of course there is always the wait --- but at least Sears got "Smart" and put the picture studio next to the big screen TV's and the tool section. So again mommy had to look for daddy. So all of you that have said worn this mommy out about pictures hope you enjoy them because it might be awhile before we do that again!

Fall is in the Air

Not a lot to report at the Erdmier house. Fall is in the Air. Baseball is still going on. . . . Sable is still the drama queen. She carries around our old phones pretending like they are full service.

Last night she asked mommy if she could go for a walk. Of course! What mommy did not know was that she would dress herself up in a leopard shirt with this black high heel shoes, torquoise glittery hat singing the whole way down the street only to stop to answer her "phone". When she got back she said 2 people called her and they wanted her to come over.

Life could get difficult by the age of 10!

Enjoy the pics-- Colby is now 6 months old!

Our Little Leaguer

Sable has had two baseball games now. Remember how she was suppose to be in girl's t-ball ages 6-7. We now find ourselves in Boys baseball - coach's pitch with 7-8 year olds. First couple of practices were rough. She didn't want to run and got hit in the hand with the ball. Last night we got our first Hit!!!! Yea! But of course there was still drama. She left her baseball glove at practice the night before and we couldn't find it and then somehow she got eaten alive by ants on the back of her neck while she was playing outfield. Now how does that happen? We know it wasn't diving for a ball as we watched our little princess watch a ball as it rolled past her in left field and she just stood there. The short stop had to run and get it. Funny in a way but daddy erdmier wasn't too happy.

Baseball might not be our fortey - but we will see how it goes. She has been getting in trouble at school also. Talking, playing in the bathroom...... so everyday the question is not how was school what did you learn--- it is did you get your color changed today. And don't get me started on the whole color change thing -- what ever happened to the good ole get your name on the board? Anyway. Never boring at the Erdmier house.

Enjoy the pics!

Drama Queen -

Well -- life at the Erdmier house has definitely changed over the past month. School starting has had an affect on all of us. Dinner is earlier, Bath time is earlier, and our Drama Queen has had a rude awakening. Of course like all parents we blame the other one for the acts our children begin in order to get attention. But we all know it is Brandon.
The first 2 weeks Sable didn't want to take a bath, she wanted to be outside with daddy, she wanted to do anything except what she was suppose to. And of course the good ol' question -- what did you do at school today? is answered with Nothin'.
We had to pull out the Love and Logic after two weeks of crying, throwing fits, and slamming doors. It has worked rather well, we have had a few interesting conversations circumment for instance:
We were at the grocery store and Sable was already upset because she wanted to be swimming at her friends house. We told her she could go when we got back. She then starts saying she is too tired to walk and she wanted to ride in the buggy. Love and logic extraordinaire mom speaks up and says, "Sable, you have two choices, one you can ride in the buggy but because you are too tired to walk it must mean you are too tired to swim. The other choice is to walk like a big girl and swim when we get home". Okay, so mom thought she had it under control.
Sable then says, "Mom, I think that those are your two choices not mine!" So much for the extraordinaire part.
Other than that -- our little dramas -- life has been pretty good for the Erdmier's. Colby is growing like and weed and his head has been correcting itself. He can sit up by hisself now and is into touching your face or earrings or hair.... whatever he can get his hands on. And for any of you who thought he was puny and a little wryly at birth -- not so much anymore.
Brandon has his foot in many doors right now and we are very excited and blessed about them.
So I think I will keep him around for a little longer.
We got to spend a wonderful little vacation in Santa Monica, CA this past weekend. Visited some family, ate some shrimp, etc. The vacation was good for us -- time together. It did remind me of something my grandmother said a while back. When you start getting old all you do is plan your day around when you eat. On Monday of our trip we had several dining locations we wanted to visit so we ate lunch at 10:30/2nd lunch at 3:30 / appetizers at 7:00 / and dinner at 9:00 -- "here's to getting old!"
