Well - let me say it is interesting. End of the year stuff with your child is crazy, early dismissal awards ceremony, losing our lunchbox (which was probably on purpose) and T-shirt signing day-- Mommy is tired and she didn't even do anything. ..... Today is Sable's last day of school -- she is so excited - but still wouldn't get her out of bed this morning. We started singing Schools out for the summertime -- that didn't help.
Sable will be staying with a neighbor for the summer, hopefully that will work out because she will be right there close to home. She is also going to the beach with my family -- she can't wait for that! And hopefully we can go camping a lot and spend some time together that way.
We took the kids camping last week at Fort Richardson in Jacksboro. It was a fishing lake so there was really no where to cool down/swim. Our camping buddies brought a small pool and Sable would run through the misters but that was about it. Colby did awesome-- all that fresh air made him sleep like a bear in hybernation-- He also enjoyed licking the mister water from his face. All in all it was a good trip -- I think I spent more time packing than camping-- you can never be prepared with a 6 year old, a 2 month old and a 30 year old!
Well we got some news yesterday- Colby had to go in for his two month old shots -- he got three of them (poor baby) the doctor was very concerned with his head shape. He has a flat/soft spot on one side. We are scheduling an appointment with a specialist and he will have to wear a helmet to fix the problem area. Mommy didn't handle it so well, but at least it is caught early and he probably won't have to wear it for too long - cross our fingers. They say it could be from early delivery, passage on his way out, or from being too long on his back and not enough tummy time. Whatever the cause may be we just feel blessed that they want to correct the issue before it gets worse or before he gets older where a helmet could be more of a nuisance for a year+ old. Mommy forgot to tell the doctor he hates hats -- so this could be interesting.
Please keep us in your prayers as you all are always in ours. At least we can start early (Matt you will appreciate this) on his football skills. Enjoy the pics!
